The short version

On iPhone, open Settings → Account → Delete Zuppi account. Earlier Android builds offer Delete sharing account from Friends. Or email hello@zuppi.recipes and we will do it for you.

1. Delete it in the app

  1. Open Zuppi and sign in with the account you want to delete.
  2. On iPhone, open Settings, then Account. On earlier Android builds, open Library, the collection menu, then Friends.
  3. Tap Delete Zuppi account (or Delete sharing account), then confirm.

If you host a Home, transfer hosting to another member or delete the Home first. The accepted request signs you out. Server cleanup retries automatically if a service is temporarily unavailable.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Zuppi Plus subscription. Cancel it in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions) or in your Apple Account settings.

2. Ask us by email

If you can’t use the app, email hello@zuppi.recipes with the subject “Delete my Zuppi account”, from the email address you use to sign in with Google or Apple. We may ask you to confirm the request. We complete requests within 30 days and tell you when it is done.

3. What is deleted

  • Your Zuppi account: sign-in provider identifiers, display name, the protected fingerprint of your email address and your sessions.
  • Your synced personal library: recipes, folders, favourites, notes, cooking history, pantry items, shopping lists and meal plans.
  • Your friendships, invitations, blocks and sharing settings, and the recipes you shared with friends.
  • Recipe links you published. They stop working when account deletion begins. Unreferenced files become eligible for cleanup after seven days.
  • Photos you uploaded and your Zuppi Plus entitlement records.

4. What is kept, and for how long

  • Recipes and photos on your phone stay there until you delete them, clear the app’s storage or uninstall Zuppi.
  • Independent copies that friends or Home members already saved stay with them. Authored Home content is removed where its owner can be identified; older shared records may only identify the last editor.
  • App diagnostics are linked to a pseudonymous installation identifier, not your account. They are deleted after 90 days. Separate import-failure records are scheduled for deletion after 30 days. Aggregate counts do not contain installation identifiers.
  • Cloud import caches expire after 30 days (posts) and 90 days (recipe results). Public-source recipes in the shared catalogue are not personal data about you and are kept.
  • Our hosting provider keeps a short point-in-time recovery window for operational recovery, after which deleted data is gone.
  • Google Play and Apple keep their own purchase records under their privacy policies. Google keeps advertising data under its own retention settings.

5. Delete some data but keep your account

  • Delete a recipe, note, pantry item, shopping item or planned meal in the app. The deletion syncs to your account.
  • Remove a published recipe link, stop sharing your library, remove or block a friend, or leave a Home from the Friends and Home screens.
  • Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings (Privacy, Ads), or turn off tracking in iPhone Settings.
  • Email hello@zuppi.recipes to ask us to delete specific data, such as diagnostics or import reports. We reply within 30 days.
